ALLCOM GLOBAL SERVICES AND AMERICAN POWER CONVERSION ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP

Rapid Deployment Data Center Solution Solves High Density Issues

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO—July 15, 2008 — AllCom Global Services Incorporated, headquartered in Lake St. Louis, announced today that it is working with American Power Conversion (APC), a subsidiary of Schneider Electric, to develop a new Rapid Deployment Data Center product to provide quick implementations of new turn-key data center space.

Utilizing tilt-up concrete pre-cast construction technology, AllCom can quickly construct data center facilities ranging in size from 400 to 8,000 square feet. Combined with APC’s industry-leading InfraStruXure solutions, the Rapid Deployment Data Center (RDDC) is a cutting-edge “green” solution designed to meet the tough demands of today’s high performance blade server and virtualization deployments.

How “rapid” is the Rapid Deployment Data Center? Usually, the APC-AllCom team can completely construct and complete a finished product within 90 days of receipt of an order from our customer. This complete solution includes equipment racks, A/C power and UPS systems, high-efficiency data center cooling solutions, intelligent environmental and security monitoring systems and related cable infrastructure.

Speed of deployment is a key benefit to choosing a RDDC solution, but the quality and efficiency of the solution also drive significant returns on investment by providing a platform that is highly energy efficient and is easily scalable for future growth. The RDDC’s efficiency is driven by APC’s InfraStruXure solution.

The APC InfraStruXure Security & Environmental monitoring system intelligently controls critical systems in the datacenter to maximize efficiency and uptime. Uptime is increased through the environmental monitoring and alarm system that notifies the IT manager when an alarm condition exists. This application also provides physical security at the rack-level through proximity card access control to the front and rear of each rack. In addition, the system provides camera control and video recording capabilities for motion-detecting security cameras in the facility so you know who was in the room, when they were there and what they were doing. This highly integrated and full-featured software application allows you to monitor and control your IT infrastructure with the click of a mouse.

APC’s software solution also controls the variable-speed fans in the cooling system to provide significant cost savings over conventional “on or off” cooling solutions utilized in most legacy Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units. Cooling capacity is largely associated with air-flow. In a legacy datacenter, “on or off” CRAC fans provide the air-flow necessary to remove heat from computer equipment, but these big fans require large motors that consume a great deal of electricity. The smaller variable-speed fans in the APC solution are extremely efficient because they use less energy and their variable speed only supplies the amount of airflow required to meet the current heat load. This offers significant cost savings over the large CRAC units.

In addition, the APC distributed cooling solution offers a higher degree of redundancy than the CRAC units can provide. If a CRAC unit fails, the data center will typically experience one or more hot-spots that could cause significant damage to critical IT equipment. With the APC In-Row Cooling solution, multiple fans or entire cooling units can fail without creating significant hot-spots in the datacenter. This increases equipment life and helps increase uptime.

With the arrival of virtualization and blade servers, many of today’s legacy datacenters have reached critical power and cooling levels that have caused significant problems for IT managers. The RDDC offers a state-of-the-art solution in a relatively quick time frame and provides the growing room needed to meet the IT mission-critical requirements for your organization.
