Job Summary
The successful candidate will work as a member of an elite wireless engineering group to implement, coordinate and troubleshoot complex enterprise wireless networks. The candidate will have solid experience working with large enterprise deployments of advanced wireless infrastructure, routers, switches and gateways and will demonstrate enthusiasm to provide leadership to other field engineers. The Wireless Engineer must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be client-focused, service driven and able to multi-task. This is a position that requires cross-functional duties with pre-sales engineering support, consulting/professional services delivery and post-installation technical support. The Wireless Engineer will provide technical pre-sales and post-sales architecture assistance for prospects and clients.
Work Location
Position(s) will be located in our Lake St. Louis, Missouri office. Other positions may be on the East Coast or West Coast. Depending on location, the successful candidate may “home office” or work from our Lake St. Louis headquarters when not working “on site” at a customer facility. Travel to customer location/job site will be required.
Responsibilities
- Perform wireless site surveys and network assessments
- Implementation and troubleshooting of 802.11a/b/g/n technology, & wireless guest access Implementation and troubleshooting of 802.11n technology Implementation and troubleshooting of Active/Passive RFID technology
- Work closely with Wireless Solutions Architect, Technical Sales Specialist and customers to review WLAN designs and implementation strategies
- Able to effectively prioritize tasks in high-pressure environments
- Communicate and collaborate within a cross-functional team and other related departments
- Validate the impact of configuration changes on network behavior and performance prior to deployment
- Perform lab tests on infrastructure upgrades and work with vendors
- Document design implementations and process
Summary of Qualifications
Technical and Educational:
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications or a minimum of 5 years of high-level network planning and design experience
- Expertise and certifications related to wireless technologies such as CCIE/CCNP, CWNE/ CWDP/CCDP preferred
- Knowledge of wireless engineering tools such as AirMagnet, OmniPeek, and Cognio.
- Proficiency in wireless security authentication methods
- Capable of wireless troubleshooting methodologies and techniques
- Experience in designing and implementation of wireless 802.11a/b/g/n
- Experience in secure mobility design, and voice/video over WLAN design
- Understanding QoS and how to design/deploy QoS
- Knowledge of enterprise based wireless components
- Strong understanding of enterprise routing/switching
- Strong understanding of general network security
Other Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within and between project teams
- Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Defense Security Clearance. Obtaining DOD Clearance requires U. S. citizenship.
