Electrical Engineer


AllCom Global Services is a specialty electrical engineering and technology firm, seeking a project designer with an electrical engineering background. The major focus for this position is within Federal Government facilities.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Full-Time Position
  • Design electrical systems for new and renovated buildings in accordance with local, state, and federal codes.
  • Provide cost estimates on electrical designs to be used for bidding projects.
  • Supervise AutoCAD drafters when they are working on electrical designs.
  • Prepare specifications and bidding documents for electrical projects that will be bid by electrical subcontractors.
  • Nurtures existing client relationships and identifies opportunities for new business.
  • Communicates with manufacturers and contractors to address challenges and develop practical designs.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to project a client-centric, can-do approach to project work.
  • Ability to prepare and review detailed drawings.
  • Ability to research and present design options.
  • Knowledge of power systems, voltage drop and fault current calculations, and harmonics associated with power electronics or telecommunications systems and general electrical design for the commercial and government environment.
  • Familiarity with code and compliance issues relative to the industry.
  • Well-developed client communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into deliverables.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to occasionally travel nationally and world-wide for site surveys and drawing review meetings.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD desired.
  • Ability to perform HVAC designs would be an attractive added talent.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering plus four years experience in electrical design of commercial projects.
  • Licensed PE preferred but EIT (engineering-in-training) is acceptable if willing to pursue PE license.
  • Experience working on project teams.
  • Ability to secure and maintain Department of Defense Top Secret Clearance.
